The First Two Weeks Cancelled Of The NBA

The nightmare that haunted some NBA fans finally came to life on October 11th when David Stern cancelled the first two weeks of the NBA. On Monday night, Stern announced that the first two weeks were cancelled because the owners and players did not reach to an agreement after 13 hours. David said that there was a significant gulf between the players and owners. When the press asked Stern what was the main problem the owners and players focused on and he replied with 'luxury tax'. Player association executive director Billy Hunter said this was all a plan by the owners. The owners predict that once the players miss one or two checks they will cave in and will have to accept any offer the owners put in the table. Hunter thinks the owners are mistaken by this idea because all the players will hang in. When ESPN reporters asked Stern how many games would there be after the cancellation and he replied with a 70 to 65 season at best. So far a meeting has not been announced in the upcoming week but they will have to come to a compromise if the players and owners want to have a 65 season at least. For more information click here. 1. Interesting story, it's a shame to lose the NBA over greedy players/owners.
