Ferrari and Red Bull teams leave the FOTA (Blog #9)
In Rome, the Ferrari team and Red bull team leave the Formula One Teams Association (FOTA). Ferrari announced the decision on its website the past Friday. They said the decision was reluctant and was caused by a stalemates among the teams on on how to move ahead in issues that they had. Red Bull then announced that it was separating to. Ferrari then announced that it will continue to work with teams to find a way to reducing costs of the sport. "It is now necessary to find some new impetus to move it along, because FOTA's drive has run its course," Ferrari said.
"The Italian team said Formula One is going through a delicate period 'like the rest of the world.'"
Just like Ferrari, Red Bull is resigning because the FOTA failed in bringing teams together for cost cutting strategies.
In the last season the FOTA represented 11 out of 12 teams on the F1 grid with Hispania Racing the only team that is not in the organization.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. wins ninth in a row most popular (Blog #8)
On Thursday, in Las Vegas, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was named in the Sprint Cup Series as the most popular driver for the ninth year. In this season Earnhardt was seventh in the Chase. Even though he did not win this season, he had more top 5 and top 10 finishes in this season than in the past 2 seasons.
Even though he has been named this title 9 times in a row, he still needs two more to pass the record of 10 in a row held by Bill Elliott. Elliott has been named this for 16 years in total. "
I am glad they didn't take the vote solely on the last race," Earnhardt said. "It would have gone to (Sprint Cup champion) Tony Stewart."
Dale Earnhardt Jr. was the son of Dale Earnhardt who was in the same career as his son. Dale Earnhardt died in the Daytona 500 on 2001 in a fatal crash were he had brute force trauma. He was the man that changed NASCAR safety. After his crash they installed safer barriers and escape hatches at the top of each car. Blog by Juan J.

St.Louis Down
While practicing for their game with the New York Rangers, a wide shot hit by Dominic Moore went wide of the goal and hit Tampa Bay's Martin St.Louis directly in the face. The puck hit him in the left eye and bled profusely and was escorted of the ice. He later left Madison Square Garden in an ambulance with multiple nasal and facial fractures. Martin St. Louis, prior to the injury and missed game the next day, had not missed a game for 499 consecutive games, third longest active in the NHL. The only two active players ahead of St. Louis for most consecutive games are Henrik Sedin with 526 and Jay Bouwmeester with 533 games. St. Louis had not missed a game since November 15, 2005. Tampa Bay was forced to call up Blair Jones, a forward from Norfolk who ended up being injured in the first period after crashing into the Ranger's goalie. Martin St. Louis was second on the Tampa Bay Lightning in scoring with 22 goals. Team officials reported that he will be turned over to the team's medical staff once swelling around his eye has gone down.

NBA Players Ready For Training Camp
A couple weeks after the NBA lockout was ended the players have been itching to start training camp. On December 7th it was announced that the National Basketball Players Association has cancelled the meeting for Wednesday. The meeting would just include the executive committee and the player’s representative. The intention of these meeting was to look over the details of the new agreement that the players and owners made. Although many players have been told the main point of the deal, the players would like to go to their respective franchise to prepare for the training that will begin on December 16th. Players can also begin taking their physical to their clubs on Wednesday. An alert was sent to all the basketball players telling them that the conference call and the voting process was cancelled for Wednesday. Instead of a meeting on Wednesday the union will have a conference call open to all players on Wednesday afternoon, which will explain the finer points of the CBA. The voting for the players to agree on will start on Wednesday at 6 p.m. ET and will run through Thursday afternoon at 4 p.m. ET. The owners will hold their vote until Thursday. Margarito coming back
Antonio Margarito license was approved by the New York State Athletic Commission on Tuesday. This insures that Margarito is going to be able to box against Miguel Cotto. Margarito had not had his license available because of he last fight he had on last November with Manny Pacquiao. From this fight he had, he got a badly broken orbital bone in his face and developed a cataract in his right eye. Know that enough time has past he is able to fight again.
